Window Sill Herb Garden

I have been living in my apartment now for more than three years and i am finally having myself a little herb garden in my windows sill. My window sill faces west and get a lot of sun from noon on. I have cilantro and chives which are growing in the same pot. I started them from seed. In another pot i grew thyme from seed, this one i started later then the rest and i might have over watered it, but its coming back slowly. The final pot i have i purchased at a garden store. It has sage, rosemary and basil, they were full grown. Growing from seed is simple with herbs like cilantro, chives and thyme. Just keep the soil moist, use a water spray bottle. The small amount of herbs i have would be enough for a family two to three people. Having herbs in my apartment makes me more prone to add some chopped herbs to my meals instead of salt. With all of the sunlight i get i have to water them each night as not to have them get dried up and die, it don't take much for certain herbs to wilt due to to much heat. Take some of my ideas and go with it yourself, you will be surprised by the results, you also can kick up your food a notch or two by adding another layer of flavor to a dish. Below are some pictures of my herbs and if you have any questions, please contact me or leave a comment.

They are reasonably priced, a dinner for 2 people should not be more than twenty dollars. Everyday they have specials, you should stop by there and get a menu. Deep Plate

I recently started up doing this Deep Plate thing. Its a program only for people in the culinary industry. I sent them my information and all they do is send you a plate every month. They ask that you create it with a special ingredient. This months ingredient in mint. So i will be creating a dish using mint and using the plate the sent me. I then take a picture of this plate and send it back to them with a description of the plate. They then publish the photo on there website. You even keep the plate. I then send them my info again next month and they again send me a plate. I get one each time as long as i sign up for it monthly. I am in the middle of creating my dish now and it smells delicious. Sorry you will have to wait and see what it is i am creating as well as what the photos look like. Look for them in them middle July and or check out my Facebook page for updates.
