Fresh Thyme Farmers Market had its pre-opening on Tuesday April 28th starting at 5 p.m. I was able to get there around 6 o'clock this was right after work. The staff was very nice and greeted me as I entered the store. By looking at the store from the inside I could tell that it was about the same size if not a little bit smaller than Standard Market. To my left was the artesian bread, deli and sushi made to order. You can even call in a to go order for sushi. The name is Kitsu Their deli meats was all Boars Head meats and their brand fresh thyme.
The seafood department was minimal but Bountiful, they had a great amount of fresh tuna, salmon ,mahi mahi, shrimp other types of stuffed seafood. They also have a variety of frozen seafood to choose from.
The meat department was extensive with multiple cuts of beef, chicken, pork. Multiple types of sausage including a chicken bratwurst. They also had alot of fresh packaged meats, frozen meats that included ground veal, pork, bison, venison, and elk.
They they also have a great variety of prepared foods to take home and warm up in the microwave or oven. This is great for a family that is constantly on the go.
They have a bountiful produce department with incredible values. The produce is sourced locally when seasonally available. They also have a variety of organic fruits as well.
They have over 400 bins of natural and organic bulk items. This includes dried fruit, grains, trail mixes, nuts and seeds
I myself love the fact that they had a machine that you could grind your own peanut butter. They so have honey roasted nuts to grind for money peanut butter and almond butter just to name a few. This way you grind what you use you don't have to buy a big container this goes for all of the items in the bins as well take what you need.
On top of having the fresh ground peanut butter they also have a variety of coffee that you can grind as well they also have pour your own olive oil, vinegar, and maple syrup.
They have a full dairy section with local and Midwest items they also have gluten free and dairy free products as well.
They have a variety of nutritious groceries and convenient healthy frozen foods for a single person to large families.
They they have a large selection of wines ranging from $10 all the way up to $30 they also have a extensive selection of local craft beers along with your generic beer brands.
I was totally overwhelmed by how big the store is any variety of produce and product they have. The fact that they have all these bins for you to take what you want is great so you don't committing to purchasing a large box of something that you may only use once or twice a month that way you can just go and get a cup of flour if all you want is a cup of flour.
I was amazed by the staff and how informative and knowledge will they were of the store especially being only open for one day. They answered all my questions and beyond I walked away feeling like I was really helped. As busy as they were the lines moved very fast which is very convenient as people don't like to stand in lines at grocery stores in fact I find it quite annoying to stand in line for long periods of time especially when me personally I only had a few items.
Went back Wednesday morning for their grand opening and there was a line around the building to get it. I had to park over a block away as a lot of people had gotten there earlier than me to get a bag of groceries free, this was a $50 value. I was late getting there for the free bag of groceries however once in line the line moved quite fast.
My overall experience was great I will definitely be coming back here in the near future and I hope to see this farmers market evolve based on the demographics of the area and what the customer wants. The farm fresh produce is second to none.
Kudos Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, you are a winner in my book and I will be seeing you again real soon.
